A citizen of Israel, Great Britain and the U.S., Guy Mendilow grew up touring internationally, starting his professional stage career at age ten with the American Boychoir, performing some 200 concerts annually with regular appearances in New York’s Carnegie Hall and Boston’s Symphony Hall. Since then, music performance and education have been Guy’s professional occupations, with the exception of brief stints at an apple orchard and as a pizza chef (Guy still enjoys making pizza).

Guy earned his International Certification in Dalcroze Eurhythmics as well as Masters of Music in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, from the Longy School of Music of Bard College, studying with Lisa Parker, Ginny Latts, Adriana Ausch and Eiko Ishizuka. He studied for the Dalcroze License under Lisa Parker and Jeremy Dittus of the Dalcroze School of the Rockies.

Alongside teaching and leading artist residencies, Guy directs the Guy Mendilow Ensemble, an “international tour-de-force” (Bethlehem Morning Call) combining world class musicianship with cinematic storytelling in shows that “explode with artistry, refinement, and excitement” (Hebrew Union College), conjuring voices lost to war and upheaval, whisking audiences to distant times and picturesque places and, ultimately, inspiring the motivation to explore lesser known cultures and histories. The Guy Mendilow Ensemble was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts’ Art Works  grant for public engagement with diverse and excellent art and the strengthening of communities through the arts, as well as highest funding level of The Boston Foundation’s Live Arts Boston. The Guy Mendilow Ensemble develops artist residencies for leading performing arts organizations including Celebrity Series of Boston and transports audiences at performing arts centers in the U.S. and Canada including the Clayton Center for the Performing Arts (Maryville TN) , Krannert Center for the Performing Arts (Urbana IL), the Shalin Liu Performance Center (Rockport, MA) and the Port Theatre (Nanaimo, British Columbia).

Guy is a visiting teaching artist in schools and universities across the U.S. including Harvard University, Cornell University, Brandeis University, Oberlin College, University of Oregon and the University of Washington.
